Volume 1 ~ Created During Loss
Volume 1 was created during a quiet and painful period while John's mother was living with dementia and slowly slipping away. Many of the photographs were taken in her own garden, among flowers she had grown and cared for over the years. Photography and poetry became a way of coping with change, grief and the heartbreak of watching someone you love fade before they are truly gone. The result is a book meant to slow the world down, a place to pause, reflect and find moments of beauty and stillness during difficult times.
Volume 2 ~ A Journey Into the World Around Us
Volume 2 steps farther into nature, capturing places and moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. From Wreck Beach and the forests of Mission to the historic Othello Tunnels, Whonnock and beyond, photographs become starting points for reflection on life, healing, memory and resilience.
