Pictures & Poems ~ Volume 1 was created during a quiet and painful season while my mother was living with dementia and slowly slipping away. As words became harder for her to hold onto, I found comfort in stillness, in her garden, in the flowers she had grown and cared for over many years, and in those moments when time seemed to slow down just enough to breathe.

Many of the photographs in this book were taken in her garden and paired with reflective poems. Together, they became a way for me to cope with change, grief, and the heartbreak of watching someone you love fade before they are truly gone. These pages aren't meant to be rushed. They are an invitation to pause. To slow down. To notice something beautiful.
